She Stands... United - Stephanie Kinsela

Hey ladies!

Before I start - how amazing have the blogs been! Man, we have some awesome people in our church.

So when I was asked to write this blog about being united, the first thing that pop into my head was birds - not just any birds but geese in particular. Why, I hear you ask! Well I’ve always found it very interesting that these birds fly in a V-formation and it’s not just to look cool - There is particular reason why they do it.

They use this when they migrate during a new season.

First, it conserves their energy. Each bird flies slightly above the bird in front of him or her, resulting in a reduction of wind resistance. The birds take turns being in the front, falling back when they get tired. In this way, the geese can fly for a long time before they must stop for rest.

You’re all probably wondering what this is to do with us or being united? Well, here it is - we are in so many ways like these geese!

We all go though different seasons with our walk with God - some really good, some not so much. Some that we must go though to help us into the next season that’s about to come. SPRING!

But if we try to “fly” to this next season ourselves without the help of our other birds (our Coastside family), we wouldn’t make it there. We would get tired half way on our journey and camp there in that spot. The spot that no one wants to be at. The spot that’s "well, I did half of it God, that’s good enough right? I want promises now." How many of us have done this and wonder why His promise hasn’t come to pass! I know I’ve done this at one point or another.

So we need to unite together Coastside girls, and help our fellow geese fly to their season, just as they would help you fly to your next season.

As it says in Isaiah 43:19 - See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Come on church, it’s happening - it’s our time to see those weathered trees start to bloom flowers. It’s our time to unite together so we can see all our springs come.

Let’s do this !!
