She Stands... Bold - Tegan Thomas

When asked to write for the blog I started thinking, what does bold mean to me? So I looked up bold in a thesaurus (definitely googled it because this millennial does not own one). Some of the words it said were; fearless, courageous, unafraid, brave etc. Bold in itself is such a powerful word.

Bold. Fearless. Courageous. Unafraid. Brave.

These are words that I would use to describe some of the amazing women I do life with. The ones who teach me how to be all of those things when I’m at my wits end and I just want to push everything and everyone off my plate. Those times when life seems so overwhelming. I’ve been there time and time again. It all just gets too much for me and I want to quit. But sometimes/most times God will put someone in your life to direct you. He will surround you with bold women who will hold your hands high when you just can’t do it anymore.

But there’s also times in our lives that we have to be the hand holder. Times when your girlfriends, sisters, aunts, mums, grandmothers, daughters, nieces the list goes on and on, times when they need you to be the boldness for them. One of the lessons that I’ve learnt as I’m going through my own journey is that God helps you fight your battles so that when others around you go through similar scenarios, God will place you in their lives so that you can help them be bold.

I think thats one of the most powerful things God has done in my life. He surrounded my life with generations of bold, strong and courageous women, from their 80s right down to the baby girls in my life. It’s crazy how a two year old can teach you how to be bold in the face of adversity but my two year old niece is one of the most courageous and boldest girls I know who calls me when she has yet another blood test and says “Tee Tee I didn’t cry this time because I’m strong!”

So ladies, remember this, when you think that you have nothing to be bold for. Be bold for the ones around you whose voices are shaking, they need you to be bold and be the voice for them. But also remember there is strength found in asking for help and asking others to be bold for you at times because ladies, we weren’t made to walk this life alone.

John 15:13 MSG - “This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends.”

I’m thankful everyday for you beautiful women in my life!

Love Tegan xo
